85% Of Active Coronavirus Cases In Maharashtra Are Asymptomatic, Health Minister Rajesh Tope

<p>Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Monday said 85% of the active 2.10 lakh Coronavirus cases recorded to date in Maharashtra are asymptomatic.</p> <p>The Health Minister revealed that metro cities like Pune, Mumbai have witnessed a major surge in the past few days. The state has undoubtedly become the epicentre of the Coronavirus epidemic in India.</p> <p>As per the State Health Department, 30,535 cases were reported yesterday, which is the highest single-day jump in 2021.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1373977480168542210[/tw]</p> <p>From today, an antigen test will be conducted at bus and railway stations and malls in Mumbai to prevent the dreaded virus from spreading even further.</p> <p>After new cases of infection reported in the state, the total number of infected people has increased to 24,79,682. After the death of 99 more people, the death toll has increased to 53,399.</p> <p>India on Sunday recorded 43,846 new Coronavirus cases, which is the highest single-day spike so far this year.</p> <p>Regarding which, the Union Health Ministry said that out of the total new cases across the country, 83.14 percent cases are from Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.</p> <p>According to the ministry, new cases are increasing every day in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat and Haryana.</p> <p>For the first time this year, more than 800 cases of coronavirus were reported in Delhi on Saturday, while two more people succumbed to the infection.</p>
