'No Lockdown In Telangana, We've Already Suffered A Lot', Says CM KCR; Urges People To Take Precautions

<p><strong>Hyderabad:</strong> Despite witnessing a significant surge in daily Coronavirus cases in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday assured people that a fresh lockdown will not be imposed in the state. While speaking at the state Assembly during an ongoing Budget session, KCR said that his government will not impose a lockdown in a hurry.&nbsp;</p> <p>However, he urged the people of Telangana to take precautions, wear masks and maintain physical distancing.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <span style="color: #e03e2d;"><a style="color: #e03e2d;" href="https://ift.tt/2Qw6BWQ Lockdown In Parts Of Maharashtra Help Contain Second Covid-19 Wave? Check Survey Here</a></span></strong></p> <p>"No more lockdowns will be there, industries will not be closed. There&rsquo;s no need to worry. We&rsquo;ve already suffered a lot. We will take all measures to contain COVID-19, but under no circumstances will there be a lockdown in the state. There will be no hasty decisions. Please don&rsquo;t panic. But people should wear masks, sanitise and maintain physical distancing," KCR said.</p> <p>During his speech, KCR also pointed out that weddings in Telengana are not happening on a large scale and asked people to conduct such events on a small scale.</p> <p>The Chief Minister also said some people from film industry recently met him, expressing concern over a possible lockdown, as several films, including some big budget ones, were under production.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <span style="color: #e03e2d;"><a style="color: #e03e2d;" href="https://ift.tt/3rrpnvt Covid-19 Lockdowns 'Ineffective', India May Reach Second Peak By Mid-April: SBI Report</a></span></strong></p> <p>Observing that Telangana is one of the best performing states in the country in dealing with the pandemic, KCR said that his government had recently ramped up testing following a fresh rise in Covid-19 cases.</p> <p>Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief's statement came even as Telangana continued to witness an upward trend in Covid-19 cases with 518 new infections being reported on Thursday, a record high this year, taking the tally to 3,05,309, while the death toll rose to 1,683 with three more fatalities.&nbsp;</p>
